Good Guys Guide to Spring Cleaning

Winter is officially kaput.

That means the time has come for the dreaded Spring clean.

We don’t want you to get bogged down by how daunting a deep clean can be, so we put together some easy tips to help along the way.

MAKE A SCHEDULE

This one is simple. Take a good, old-fashioned piece of paper and jot down what you want done. When you have all of those tasks listed, prioritize them. Which of those activities are more important to you? When you’ve nailed those two crucial details down, the rest of the cleaning will go significantly smoother

START SMALL

Bigger projects are often more time-consuming, so begin your clean with something you know you can finish in one sitting. That will help de-clutter some space and give you a boost of confidence heading into the more hands-on cleaning.

GO FROM TOP TO BOTTOM

Start the cleaning from the ceiling down. That ensures that dust particles and dirt have fallen, meaning you can sweep all of it up without having to go back and get rid of it after you’ve already cleaned the floor.

CHECK THOSE FORGOTTEN AREAS

Windows, baseboards, and ceiling fans are the main culprits here. It’s easy to overlook them when you’re cleaning. So, take some time to give them the attention they deserve — your sinuses will thank you. While you’re at it, why not take a look at your HVAC filter?

OUTDOOR CLEANING

Getting things in order outside can be as stressing as inside your home. But, most problems can be washed away with a water hose and some soap, so the process is more streamlined than the indoors.

PUT ITEMS IN STORAGE

Need some extra space? We all have random items that don’t exactly have a set place in the home. Those can really crowd your living space. You can rent out a storage unit for those belongings. If that’s something you’re interested in — give the Good Guys a call.

KEEP IT CLEAN

It may be hard to believe, but some people don’t have to do a Spring cleaning. That’s because they de-clutter their home throughout the year. It only takes a small effort here and there to keep things in tip-top shape. Then, you can avoid the yearly ritual altogether.
